Folders are a new addition as part of iOS4.
This new function allows you to gather up to 12 apps together and group them all in one place, in the same folder.
To create a folder, all you need to do is touch and hold an app until it wiggles, drag it onto another app and you’re done.
You can repeat the process with more apps. For example, you can put all the games your daughter plays in one folder, all your news apps in another and all your productivity apps in yet another. You can also create folders and organise apps using iTunes on your Mac or PC, then sync it all back to your iPhone.
Naming your folders is automatic – a name is assigned to your folder, based on the category of the apps inside it:
Games, News, Sport and so on. Of course, you can change the folder names to whatever you want, such as Katie’s Games or Football Apps.
You can have up to 180 folders on your iPhone, and since each folder can hold 12 apps, that means you can keep up to 2,160 apps, organised on your iPhone at any time.
- Multitasking – Switch between apps quickly
With Multitasking, you can now run your favourite third-party apps — and switch between them instantly, without slowing down the performance of the foreground app, or draining the battery unnecessarily.
The multitasking user interface allows you to quickly switch between recently used apps.
Just double-click the Home button to reveal your recently used apps. Scroll right to see more apps and then just tap on one to reopen it.
No need to wait for the app to reload, and you will be able to pick up right where you left off. So when you return to the app, you can jump straight back into playing your game, reading the news, finding a restaurant or whatever you were doing.
Please note: Multitasking is not available on the iPhone 3G.

The new iPhone 4 has a different size SIM card from any other phone. This has been named 'Micro SIM' Customers who buy an iPhone 4 outside of Tesco Mobile, will be able to request a new Micro SIM via our customer Service team by an adviser completing the SIM Replacement online form and selecting the 'Upgrade to Micro SIM' option. The customer will then receive a New Micro SIM and adaptor within 3 working days.

All the customer has to do is place the Micro SIM card into the adaptor, and the Micro SIM will act just like a regular SIM card.

Unfortunately this is not possible.
If Visual Voicemail is available from your mobile network you’ll see a blue dot on the left-hand side of each message, that hasn’t been listened to, in the voicemail list.
Please note that Visual Voicemail is not available on Tesco Mobile. You can find out how many new and saved messages there are in your voicemail box, by calling 905.
There are 2 ways you can send a Picture message:

- Place the SIM card back into the iPhone.
Transferring information from your current iPhone to a new iPhone:
- Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes and iPhone OS.
- Connect your current iPhone to iTunes and sync it.
- Connect your new iPhone to iTunes (on the same computer you used to back up your current iPhone).
- iTunes will ask you if you want to restore from a backup or set up your new iPhone as a new phone. When prompted, select the backup of your current iPhone.
- After iTunes finishes restoring the backup, the iPhone will restart and all the information that was on your iPhone before will now be on your new iPhone.
- Select the settings icon on your iPhone and selecting 'Mail > Contacts > Calendars' and select the Import SIM contacts option.
- Please note that only names and the primary contact numbers on your Tesco SIM card will be transferred across.
Transfering contacts from a PC or Mac to your iPhone:
Customers who have their contacts saved on their PC or Mac can transfer them to their iPhone following the instructions on Page 7 of the iPhone user guide, which is available on the Apple website.
Please note that if a customer has their contacts saved on a non-iPhone device, they will need to follow the instructions from that manufacturer to transfer them to their PC.
Music from your iTunes library will automatically be transferred if you sync your iPhone to your iTunes account.
If your existing music is in another format, for example WMA (Windows Media), you will need to convert it into a file format that iTunes accepts in order to play it on your iPhone or iTunes.
The exchange of contacts, via Bluetooth or vCards with other devices, is not supported.
We would recommend that iTunes be synchronised to your PC at home.
Please note that some business PCs and laptops may have permissions installed that can affect their functionality when 3rd party software is installed.
We recommend that you check with your company IT administrator before installing iTunes on business PCs and laptops.
If your iPhone is not working as expected, it may be due to some of the content sync-ed to it.
Try removing certain content, such as contacts, calendars, songs, photos, videos, or podcasts.
To remove content, connect your iPhone via the USB and use iTunes to change the sync settings.
Click on iPhone in the 'Source' list and select each tab to change the sync setting, and then click 'apply'.

To erase settings:

When viewing text or other information, tap the screen and hold your finger in place. The iPhone will then prompt you to cut, copy or paste.
First, you need to get a photo or picture. There are a few ways to do this:
- Save a photo from Facebook: Open the Facebook app and find the photo you want. Once you've got it open, tap the screen to hide the status bar at the top of the screen and take a screenshot by pressing the Sleep/Wake button (on the top of your iPhone) and the Home button (on the front) at the same time.
- Save a picture from a picture message (MMS): Tap the image in the conversation, tap, and tap 'Save Image'.
- Take a photo on your iPhone: Tap Camera, then aim and take your photo.
- Save a picture from the internet or an email: Touch and hold the image, then tap 'Save Image'.
Now you've saved your photo, you just need to add it to a contact.
- From the home screen, tap Photos and find your photo (if you've only just saved it, it should be the last one).
- Tap 'Assign to Contact' and choose your contact from the list.
- Drag and pinch to pan and zoom the photo until you've got it the way you want it to look.
- Tap 'Set Photo'.
You should check this with your IT Department on how to set up email in a Microsoft Exchange Enviroment.
Tap on the 'Mail' icon or go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account, and select from either one of the pre-determined email providers, or tap 'Other'.
Complete the required information and tap 'Save.'
Multimedia Messaging Service or MMS is available to all iPhone customers who are on version 3.0 and above iPhone 3G. Customers will be able to send photos, contacts, audio file and location via MMS. If you are a customer who is not on at least version 3.0, then you will not be able to send MMS.
The new iOS4 software enables all iPhones to send 2MB MMS. This functionality is currently only available between Tesco Mobile and O2 numbers.
Customers will be able to send the new 2MB MMS while roaming on another network, as long as the roaming network allows this.
2MB MMSs are currently free for Tesco Mobile customers on the iOS4 to send and receive, and this includes while they are roaming.
If the customer tries and sends a 2MB MMS to any other mobile network, then the MMS will be automatically adjusted to the standard size, but Tesco Mobile cannot guarantee that the message will deliver successfully.
