How do I port my number?

When you port your number it means you keep your mobile number when you switch networks. To do this you’ll need a PAC (Port Authorisation Code).

To receive your PAC you’ll need to get this from your current network. Click here to find contact details. They should give this to you within two working days but they will explain if they can’t. You will need to make sure you have no outstanding bills or disconnections fees to pay with your old network. It’s also very important to get your PAC before your phone is disconnected with your old network as they will not be able to transfer your number if you disconnect before then.

Your PAC will be valid for 30 days. If you don’t use it in that time then you will need to contact your old network again for a new one.

If you’ve purchased insurance with your new phone you’ll need to contact Tesco Phone Insurance here to update them with your details.

What you need to do with your PAC depends on the new network you’re with. See below for guidance:

You can tell them your PAC when you buy your phone in store or if buying online there is a box to enter it.

If you don’t have your PAC when you buy your phone, you can still transfer your number once you’re connected. Get in touch with Orange to give them your PAC.
